Re-sizing Photos in Windows XP
This guide explains how to re-size your photos to a suitable size for uploading to your website blog or up-datable content.
Download Some Free Software
There are several free photo re-sizer programs available - this guide will use PIXresizer, which is available as a free download here.
Open a Photo
Click the 'Load Picture' button, navigate to the photo you want to re-size, and open it.
Re-size Photo
Select the 'Custom Size' button, then change the size (see the next step for hints on what size to choose).
Choosing the size
The ruler above shows actual screen size in pixels. Most photos will need to be re-sized to between 100-300 pixels wide to fit on the screen.
Save re-sized Photo
When you have chosen a new size, click the 'Save Picture' button and save somewhere ready to upload to your website.
